So that’s a very brief summary of me as a person. I love working with fellow oddballs, creatives and dreamers and my style of photography is enormously influenced by both my love for nature, literature and classic art. I love to create work that is timeless, whimsical and looks like maybe it could be an oil painting of yesteryear. Colour, light, mood; I love to celebrate these incredible tools of nature and tell a story within a frame for what is photography if not but another way to narrate? to paint a memory? to immortalise a moment forever (or at least until the prints get tattered and the files lost.) If you are looking for a serious, traditional wedding photographer who takes ‘snaps’ - alas, I am not the girl for the job. If you want to collaborate, be adventurous and create romantic imagery that narrates a story captured by someone lighthearted and playful, then pop me an email.
They call me Sarah, most likely because that’s my name. I’m a writer and photographer from West Cornwall with a penchant for hats, a love of adventure and obsession with the ocean. A tad on the dorky side, some of my favourite things include cheesy 80’s fantasy films (I’m looking at you Labyrinth & Lost boys) autumn moons, spicy food, cats that are sassy and finding treasure on the beach.
Five years now of quietly accumulating a plethora of experience in different aspects of photography, writing poetry on the back of my hand and an impulsive moon tattoo later... I have a first class Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, a ton of energy & a dream of travelling to wonderful places to take photographs of wonderful things.
I seek out the most quietly beautiful and charming aspects of the world and have an eye for the enchanting in the everyday. My love of folklore, nature & literature comes through in my photographs and my childhood growing up in Cornwall enormously influences my work.
These days, I live a stones throw from the sea in a bohemian ocean town where we have the most incredible winter solstice festival and everyone is kind of a pirate. I spend my afternoons drinking coffee by the sea, writing in notebooks I’m inevitably destined to lose, eating endless noodles & gyoza with my husband, Jon & seeking out the very best sea caves ^_^
